2023 vibe check according to moi

My 2023 vibe check
Enough with the finger in the wind “2023 predictions” cluttering my Twitter feed. Let’s be real, none of us know what the state of politics will look like in a year.
So, I’m calling it like I see it and bringing you my 2023 trend cast. The category is “random” - aka my mismatched mix of passions and interests.
After (some) thought and years of careful consuming, I’ve put pen to paper to outline my best guesses of what will be “in” and “out” in the year ahead, the unpredictable and unforeseen notwithstanding of course! Take a look at my picks below, and let me know what you think.
5 questions to make you think
In keeping with my last newsletter, I wanted to share 5 questions that I ask myself semi-consistently to keep this ship on the right course:
Will my current habits lead to the version of myself I want to become?
What would I try even if I knew I was going to fail?
If I had 1 extra hour of free time each day, how would I spend it?
What is bringing me the most anxiety or unease at the moment?
On a scale of 1-10, am I happy with where I am and where I am going?
1 quote that made me think
“Patience is the confidence that you will be able to handle any outcome without trying to force events to fit your needs or desires.” - Unknown
Research has established a strong relationship between a lack of confidence in future outcomes and impatience — or an inability to be in the present moment.
9 times out of 10 (an approximation, but work with me here), my impatience is caused by unanswered questions with uncertain endings.
Next time you feel impatient, explore the emotion. Odds are, there is fear and self-doubt present.
